What is in your Hand ? God asked Moses
Exodus 4: 1 - 5
Moses answered - the Staff or the Rod which he held in hand to take care of the sheep he watched for this father in law.
What does the Staff / Rod means -
Rod means - Personality.
1. Moses depended on the staff everyday to take care of the sheep, to protect himself from wild animals, clear the path and to walk up the mountain. Moses held his personality in his hand. He once held the staff of authority in Egypt.
2. Moses held his Problem in his hand.
The rod / staff controlled Moses. Moses dependend on the staff. What is your staff / rod, is it your job, your spouse, children, your talent, your abilities. Are your abilities and talents driving you . {Eph 5.2o, Gal 2. 20}
3. Moses held his Potential in his hand.
The Lord says your Personality,Problem and Potential are like a snake before me who's head I will crush.
The Lord says throw your Potential - Talent - abilities on the ground. Throw them at His feet.
When you catch a snake - you catch it by the neck. The Lord asks Moses to catch the snake by the tail. Which is a dangerous position, the snake can strike back and bite you.
When the Lord asks you to do it - listen. When you catch the snake by the tail it turns back into the rod /staff. But its not the same staff that Moses held its a New staff /rod. It was no longer Moses staff, the dead stick that Moses held, it was now the Lords anointed staff.
Moses held this staff and went to meet the Pharoah - this staff/rod was the one which created miracles. Moses held the staff against the Red Sea and it divided. And the miracles continued .......
Are you willing to throw everything you have at the Master's feet. Are you willing to surender all. Let the Master take your abilities, talents, potential and return it back to you for His glory.
